Challenge puts focus on coding, careers in computer science

South Dakota’s congressman, Rep. Dusty Johnson, is inviting students in grade 6-12 to participate in the Congressional App Challenge. The challenge allows students to compete against their peers across the state by creating a brand-new computer application or “app.”

In the past nine years, more than 50,000 students across the country have participated, improving their knowledge and experience in computer science and coding. The deadline to submit a project is Oct. 24, 2024, and students are eligible to register individually, or in teams of up to four people.
